One day Paltau horseback riding tour

Description: The Paltau horseback riding tour passes through the Ugam-Chatcal National Park, which is located among the spurs of the Western Tien-Shan Mountains. The word "Paltau" comes from the Turkic language. Its original name was "Pulat tau", which means "metallic mountain". Since ancient times, Paltau has been famous for producing ore rich in mineral content. There are still some remains of smelting furnaces, dating back to the Middle Ages.

The route passes through various mountain landscapes. The length of the route is 15 km. The first interesting sight on the route is Obi-Rakhmat grotto, the cave settlement of primitive people from the Paleolithic Era.
At the site of the archeological excavation, you will learn about the unique discoveries and scientific significance of this location. Next, the route winds through a canyon to the Paltau waterfall, which cascades from a height of 38 meters.
On a hot summer day, the mist of the waterfall will be a welcome relief and will renew your strength. The high point of the tour is the birch grove, where, under the leafy shade, you can enjoy a meal and relax. There will be a VIP-picnic in Uzbek style on kurpacha (local mattresses) and with dostarkhan (local table-cloth). During the rest you can observe the rich flora and fauna of the Chatcal Reserve.
A beekeeper, Ortygali Aka, lives just in 500 meters from the birch grove. For most of his life he has worked as a ranger in the Chatcal Reserve. Being a hospitable and communicable man, Ortygali aka can tell many interesting stories and certainly will amaze you with his honey. After the rest you will return via the opposite side of the canyon. Before your eyes will appear the incomparable panorama of Paltau canyon, the river flowing along its bottom, as well as the mountain range, from Kungyrbuka Mountain to Paltau Peak.
You certainly will get a positive impressions about your active day!

You also have a possibility to stay on overnight at a beautiful Chatcal Mountains riverside resort, located close to the Paltau route.
